Elon Musk once again asked McDonald’s to accept Dogecoin

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, continued his media pressure on the world’s fast food chain giant to accept Dogecoin (DOGE) digital currency as a payment method.

According to Wallex and quoted by Crypto Globe, Musk answered affirmatively once again in response to a user’s question about the validity of his previous offer to the McDonald’s restaurant chain. One year ago, in January 2022, Elon Musk offered to McDonald’s that if they accepted Dogecoin as a payment intermediary, he would eat a package of the restaurant’s famous children’s meal (Happy Meal) in front of the television cameras.

Musk is one of the well-known supporters of the Dogecoin digital currency. At the end of 2021, Tesla company provided the ability to pay with Dogecoin for its users.

Musk also announced that in version 2 of the Twitter platform, this social network will support payment functionality. However, more details about this feature and its release date have not been provided.

Dogecoin digital currency was created in 2013 as a joke. This coin meme hit the news headlines in 2014; In that year, the user community of this network, by collecting 25,000 dollars, helped the Jamaican equestrian team to be able to appear in the Sushi Winter Olympics.
