Why does the Bitcoin Core download state that the Blockchain is just 7GB in size?
The [Bitcoin Core](https://bitcoin.org/en/download) download page states:
> You should make sure that you have enough bandwidth and storage for the block chain size (7GB).
I am surprised by the 7GB, I thought the blockchain is more than 400 GB in size. Does Bitcoin Core compress the blockchain somehow? If yes, does the whole Blockchain with all its Data fit into 7GB?

> Reduce Storage
> It is possible to configure your node to run in pruned mode in order to reduce storage requirements. This can reduce the disk usage from over 350GB to around 7GB
The 350GB number there is about a year out of date
Hoping Cobra recovers his motivation soon, and resumes maintaining bitcoin.org

This is correct. A pruned node must be at least 7GB.
I’m seeing 520GB on my node right now for full blockchain.
There must be a mistake. It will downlod more than 400GB as you said.
